Michael Jordan spends more on charity every year than he did for a customized yacht and a Bugatti combined

Michael Jordan is famous for balling both on and off the court.

He’s prone to spending lavishly, with a fleet of enviable cars, superyachts and multiple properties to his name.

But his charitable donations are incredibly generous, surpassing the value of his most expensive assets.

While he loves to give back, Michael Jordan certainly doesn’t shy away from splurging on himself too.

The NBA star owns a private golf club, which cost nearly $20 million to build.

Anyone lucky enough to crack an invite to be a member will have to cough up a $250,000 joining fee.

Then there’s his $80 million superyacht called ‘Joy’.

As if the initial cost of Joy wasn’t bad enough, she also costs $800,000 a week to maintain.

Another area Jordan is happy to splash cash is on his fleet of cars.

He has a taste for rare supercars, like the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster.

The car, which was personally delivered to his golf club, set Jordan back $3 million.

One of his most rare cars is his beloved Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir, worth $2.25 million.

There are only 12 of these in existence, one of which belongs to Drake.

While it’s undeniable Jordan has spent a fair share of his fortune on incredible assets, his charity donations surpass his luxurious purchases.

In 2020, Jordan pledged to spend $100 million on uplifting his community and fighting inequality.

Through his Jordan Brand company, the basketball player is funding various nonprofit organizations.

He could buy another superyacht and Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir with that and still have change.

And this is not the only grand charitable gesture the star has made.

He’s an active supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, giving both his money and his time to the cause.

For his 60th birthday, he gifted $10 million – the largest donation Make-A-Wish has ever seen.

While his NBA days are behind him, Jordan is still an extremely successful businessman.

It seems as long as he’s raking in millions a year from ventures, like his lucrative deal with Nike, he’ll continue to give away chunks of his fortune too.
