MrBeast became the world\u2019s most subscribed<\/a> individual YouTuber, and the second overall after an Indian production company, with a clever strategy.<\/p>\n

When he first started, he didn\u2019t have any money for videos, so he tried out a bunch of simple yet grueling challenges to go viral.<\/p>\n

In one of his first videos, he literally counted to 100,000.<\/p>\n

Fast-forward to 2024, and it\u2019s fair to say he doesn\u2019t have a money problem anymore.<\/p>\n

MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, makes high-budget videos every week.<\/p>\n

Most of his videos involve a giveaway.<\/p>\n

He once gave away an island and, on another occasion, he challenged one of his fans to live in a grocery store for as long as possible.<\/p>\n

And he promised he\u2019d give him $10,000 for every day he \u2018survived\u2019.<\/p>\n

By the time the challenge ended<\/a>, MrBeast owed the viewer a six-figure sum.<\/p>\n

You have to spend money to earn money, as they say, and MrBeast is certainly taking this mantra to heart.<\/p>\n

In a recent podcast event with the All-In Podcast<\/a>, he said he spends an average $2.5 million on each video.<\/p>\n

But he said the cost is justified.<\/p>\n

When somebody from the podcast told him that\u2019s like \u201cmaking an independent film every two weeks,\u201d MrBeast said he thinks the budget is high but not unreasonable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s that crazy. They [the videos, ed.] get 100 million views in seven days,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf any other media, outside of social media, got that kind of viewership, the budget would be like 50x.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s certainly working out for him.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes<\/a>, MrBeast made an average $6.2 million a month in 2023 from YouTube.<\/p>\n

MrBeast himself said he makes about $5 million per video in YouTube earnings alone.<\/p>\n
