A South San Jose councilmember who snagged a seat in a contentious appointment last year is fighting to stay in office \u2014 and now it appears he\u2019ll face challenger George Casey in November. As of 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, San Jose Councilmember Arjun Batra had secured 36.9% of the vote. Casey narrowly leads the incumbent with 38.2% of the vote. Candidate Lenka Wright trailed behind with 24.8% of the vote. About 9,833 ballots have been counted so far in District 10. The county\u2019s voter turnout is about 16%.
