But they say during the trial she showed no remorse and blamed her subordinates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>They recommended Lan receive the death sentence for embezzlement and a combined 38-40 years for bribery and violating banking regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Other defendants face life in prison if convicted of helping her obtain <\/span><span>loans for shell companies from Saigon Commercial Bank, leading to a $20 billion loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The accused include Lan\u2019s <\/span><span>Hong Kong billionaire husband Eric Chu; <\/span><span>45 SCB executives; 15 State Bank of Vietnam officials; three government inspectors; and a former official at the State Audit Office.
