IRCC Files Declaratory Relief Action Concerning Operation of the Viet Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Jose, CA<\/strong> \u2013 March 10, 2026 – The Immigrant Resettlement & Cultural Center, Inc. (IRCC) has filed an action in Santa Clara County Superior Court seeking declaratory and injunctive relief relating to the operation of the Viet Museum at History Park in San Jos\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The action requests judicial clarification regarding the rights and obligations of the parties under the affiliate agreement governing the Museum\u2019s operation. The filing does not include claims for monetary damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Viet Museum has remained closed since December 2024 following actions taken by History San Jos\u00e9 that were described as relating to concerns about an internal governance dispute within IRCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IRCC states that the closure has limited public access to the Museum and affected volunteer and educational programming associated with the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IRCC\u2019s filing seeks clarification from the Court regarding whether the continued operation of the Museum may be conditioned on the resolution of internal organizational matters that have not yet been judicially determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IRCC was founded more than forty years ago to assist Vietnamese refugees resettling in the United States and later established the Viet Museum to preserve artifacts and historical documentation related to the refugee experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IRCC states that it remains committed to preserving the Museum\u2019s collection and continuing its educational mission for the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
