This entire 30,000 ton Chinese building was rotated 90 degrees in unprecedented project

There’s engineering marvels, then there’s this.

Engineers in China have moved an entire building 945 feet and rotated it 90 degrees.

That’s an epic feat, considering the bus station weighs a whopping 30,000 tons (60,000,000 pounds).

The last time we saw something as remarkable as this was when a group of construction workers moved a 2,650-ton (5,300,000 pounds) bridge using dish soap.

A 30,000-ton bus station is a different kettle of fish, though – especially when it’s 530-feet long (161 meters) and 110-feet wide (33 meters).

Plus, they didn’t use dish soap to move it either.

Instead, they installed more than 500 alternating walking machines beneath the building, so it could reach its final position step by step.

They managed to do it, too – and didn’t even break a pane of glass in the process.
