There is a vault in a distant town which is prepped to one day save humanity

It sounds like something out of the movies but there is a ‘doomsday’ vault which is designed to save humanity. Looking like something from a Mission Impossible film, it is hidden away in a place called Spitsbergen, in the Svalbard Norwegian archipelago. An archipelago is a group of small islands, but there’s no sign of Tom Cruise. Surrounded by snow, ice and polars bears, the vault is a facility which houses 1.2million different seed samples from around the world. These seeds are relied upon by humans for survival.
