A cruise to the Bahamas had to reroute, arriving somewhere basically the opposite of the tropical paradise.
MSC Meraviglia was all set to depart from New York to head to sunnier pastures.
But bad weather meant a change of plans, and now passengers are walking around wearing coats and gloves.

These passengers had been looking forward to sunnier climes.
The MSC Meraviglia was scheduled to transport them from rainy and miserable New York City to the Bahamas.
But Mother Nature had another plan.
Just 24 hours before the departure, passengers were alerted to a change of plans.
Because of bad weather, the only route for the yacht to take now was to Canada, where it was even colder than New York.
“The complexities involved in obtaining last-minute berths for unplanned stops and provisioning the ship along its new route left sailing to Canada and New England as the only viable option,” the company said in a statement.
Passengers could either continue on this new, unexpected journey or cancel and take cruise credit.
The problem was that many had traveled to New York, especially for the trip.
It could’ve been worse: they could’ve been one of the passengers on the $230k cruise that was cancelled due to not having a boat.
Lakeya Allen decided to go ahead with the new cruise and has been posting updates on TikTok.
Her videos show the deckchairs on the superyacht are all completely empty as guests congregate indoors to stay warm.
Usually, the pools would be full of swimmers, but now just a few children are braving the waters.
The average temperature is 32°F, and Allen and her children are seen wearing coats, gloves and masks.
Indoors, the heated pool and jacuzzis are full.
Luckily, this cruise ship is kitted out with a host of amenities, from a casino to an on-board mall.
While this is definitely not the Christmas cruise they signed up for, everyone is trying to make the most of it.
They’ve hosted dress-up evenings, swapped the cool drinks for hot chocolates, and had a trip to Cambridge Mall in Massachusetts.
Not quite the same as sipping cocktails while swimming in turquoise waters – but still.
