Apple released iOS 27.0.1 two weeks after iOS 27, primarily to address Face ID issues on the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.

The update resolves three major bugs, the most critical being a problem that caused the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max to unexpectedly restart when Face ID authentication failed. Users had reported issues with Face ID not functioning during app unlocks, or the phone freezing and restarting. Others encountered messages indicating Face ID was “not available” during setup.
Additional Improvements
The update also fixes a camera issue with the iPhone 18 Pro when using the 2x zoom mode in low light or complex lighting conditions, particularly related to color accuracy. Another fix addresses a touchscreen responsiveness issue when accessing both the Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously.
