iPhone Duo Pre-Order Details
Vietnamese customers looking to pre-order Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, are required to place a deposit of 30 million VND, significantly higher than the 1 million VND deposit for the iPhone 18 Pro series. Pre-orders will be accepted from 7 PM on October 16 until the end of October 17, with each customer limited to one device. Customers can retrieve their deposit if they choose not to purchase the product.
Launch and Availability
The iPhone Duo will be available starting at 8 AM on October 23 in Vietnam, with initial sales limited to authorized Apple retailers. The high deposit is intended to gauge genuine customer interest in this new, high-priced product. In contrast, previous models like the iPhone 18 Pro series had a much lower deposit, which allowed for easier speculative purchases.
Supply and Demand
Reports indicate that the initial supply of iPhone Duo units will be limited compared to expected demand. Retailers anticipate that the available stock will not meet customer needs, although it is expected to exceed the supply of other foldable phones currently on the market.
Product Specifications
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display, both supporting Apple Pencil. Apple has designed the device to minimize the crease common in foldable phones, incorporating a multi-layer screen and advanced hinge technology. The device is made from titanium and reinforced with ceramic fibers, achieving an IP68 water and dust resistance rating.
Performance and Features
Equipped with the A20 Pro chip, the iPhone Duo can manage dual displays simultaneously. Its cooling system enhances performance by 35% compared to the iPhone 17 Pro. The battery is split into two halves, working together seamlessly, allowing for extended video playback of 31 hours on the inner screen and 45 hours on the outer screen.
Camera Capabilities
The camera system includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom, and 4K video recording at 120 frames per second. Additionally, it features a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera on the outer screen and a FaceTime camera on the inner display.
Pricing
In Vietnam, the iPhone Duo starts at 64.99 million VND for the 256 GB version and goes up to 103.99 million VND for the 2 TB model, comparable to high-end laptops. Users can choose between two colors: Star White and Night Sky.
