Recent Complaints About Muamau E-commerce Platform

Increasing Reports of Victims
Recently, social media has seen a rise in posts from individuals claiming to be victims of the e-commerce platform Muamau. This platform operates on a dropshipping model, where sellers do not hold inventory but instead forward orders to suppliers for direct delivery to customers, profiting from price differences.

Overview of Muamau
According to a report by Tuổi trẻ on May 16, 2025, Muamau is described as a new wave in online shopping, aimed at budget-conscious consumers who enjoy quick deals without worrying about shipping costs. The platform emphasizes support for small sellers and does not require sellers to make a deposit.

User Experiences
Contrary to the platform’s claims, a user reported needing to deposit money before the app would send products to buyers. This user stated they lost 70 million VND and could not withdraw their funds because the platform collapsed. Many participants have reported being unable to withdraw money, facing additional charges to process orders, and encountering difficulties in filing complaints after Muamau reportedly faced issues starting June 25, 2026.

Media Promotion and Trust Issues
Prior to the wave of complaints, Muamau was heavily promoted by various media outlets, including some associated with law enforcement. Celebrities like singer Quang Hùng MasterD and Miss Khánh Vân also participated in promotional activities, which helped build trust among potential users. One victim expressed that they trusted the platform due to its promotion by reputable media.

Lack of Accountability from Media
When the platform collapsed, many victims were frustrated not only by their financial losses but also by the silence of the media that had previously promoted Muamau. Notably, VnExpress quickly removed promotional articles about Muamau following its collapse. Users have attempted to contact the media outlets that advertised Muamau but received no responses.

Government Inaction
Despite the platform’s collapse on June 25, there has been no response from any government agency to protect consumer rights, even though Muamau was licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. On June 26, a Facebook page dedicated to combating online crime posted a video about the incident, but it lacked any reassuring measures or solutions for the victims.

Frustration Among Victims
Many victims have submitted complaints to authorities and media but have received no acknowledgment. One user lamented the lack of response from agencies that were supposed to safeguard consumer interests.
