San Jose Councilmember Domingo Candelas is celebrating his lead in early returns on election night. As of 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the incumbent is leading the race for the District 8 seat on the San Jose City Council with 38.4% of the vote. Tam Truong is close behind in second with 33.8% of the vote, Sukhdev Bainiwal is trailing with 25.8% of the vote and Surinder “Suri” Kaur Dhaliwal has 1.9%.
