IRCC, tổ chức làm chủ của Việt Museum đã chính thức nộp đơn kiện tổ chức History San Jose (HSJ) tại Tòa Thượng Thẩm Quận Santa Clara để bảo vệ quyền vận hành Việt Museum tại San Jose History Park.
Trong đơn kiện, IRCC yêu cầu tòa án xác định rõ rằng HSJ không có quyền can thiệp vào công việc nội bộ của IRCC, không có quyền đóng cửa Việt Museum vì những lý do họ đã đưa ra, không có quyền hủy bỏ hợp đồng vận hành Bảo Tàng, và không có quyền giao Việt Museum cho bất kỳ tổ chức nào khác.
Việt Museum đã bị đóng cửa từ tháng 12 năm 2024, làm gián đoạn tất cả các hoạt động lịch sử, văn hoá, giáo dục và sinh hoạt cộng đồng hơn một năm nay.
IRCC khẳng định quyết tâm bảo vệ Việt Museum – một di sản lịch sử của cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn – và tiếp tục sứ mệnh gìn giữ ký ức cộng đồng này cho các thế hệ mai sau.

IRCC Files Declaratory Relief Action Concerning Operation of the Viet Museum
San Jose, CA – March 10, 2026 – The Immigrant Resettlement & Cultural Center, Inc. (IRCC) has filed an action in Santa Clara County Superior Court seeking declaratory and injunctive relief relating to the operation of the Viet Museum at History Park in San José.
The action requests judicial clarification regarding the rights and obligations of the parties under the affiliate agreement governing the Museum’s operation. The filing does not include claims for monetary damages.
The Viet Museum has remained closed since December 2024 following actions taken by History San José that were described as relating to concerns about an internal governance dispute within IRCC.
IRCC states that the closure has limited public access to the Museum and affected volunteer and educational programming associated with the institution.
IRCC’s filing seeks clarification from the Court regarding whether the continued operation of the Museum may be conditioned on the resolution of internal organizational matters that have not yet been judicially determined.
IRCC was founded more than forty years ago to assist Vietnamese refugees resettling in the United States and later established the Viet Museum to preserve artifacts and historical documentation related to the refugee experience.
IRCC states that it remains committed to preserving the Museum’s collection and continuing its educational mission for the public.
