This giant potato is actually a beautiful Airbnb you can stay in

This Airbnb is one of the most bizarre listings on the site.

The Big Idaho Potato Hotel is a quirky tiny home that sleeps two.

And it’s shaped like, you guessed it, a giant potato.

But while the exterior looks like an actual vegetable, the interior is surprisingly stylish.

Idaho is famous for its potatoes, with one-third of all potatoes grown in the US coming from the state.

There is even an Idaho Potato Museum here.

In 2012 the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) decided it needed to do some promo for the beloved vegetable.

The Big Idaho Potato Truck Tour was launched, touring the country to educate people on the state’s contribution to the agriculture industry.

The main attraction of the tour was a giant replica of a russet potato.

The potato was about 28 feet long, 12 feet tall and 11.5 feet wide.

It weighed six tons and was made out of foam, finished with a mottled brown paint job.

After traveling across 48 states over seven years, the truck was retired.

An employee of the IPC, Kristie Wolfe, had a retirement plan for the vegetable.

“I called dibs on it immediately,” she said.

“It was going to live in my backyard, and I was going make it into a rental.”

Wolfe and her family then spent 30 days converting the huge piece of potato-shaped foam into an Airbnb like no other.

Stepping inside feels like being transported to a tiny piece of Greece, with white-washed walls and Mediterranean stylings.

The walls are made of 10-inch expanding foam for insulation and feature built-in nooks and shelves.

On the far end of the potato is a queen-size bed, under a homemade antler chandelier.

The floor gives the space a light and airy feel and is made from cut-up wood panels.

If you want to use the bathroom you’ll have to head outside to the silo 50 feet away.

But this is not your average farm silo.

It’s been converted into a luxurious bathroom, complete with a skylight, whirlpool and a functional fireplace.

The potato is situated on Wolfe’s ranch, where you’ll be neighbors with Dolly the cow.

One night at the Potato Hotel will cost you $164.

A small price to pay to stay in such a unique home.
