Concept for world’s first ‘gigayacht’ that’s twice as big as Jeff Bezos’ is incredible

An amazing concept for the first ever ‘gigayacht’ has been revealed.

And, if created, it will be the biggest-ever private vessel.

Created by designer Chulhun Park and sponsored by Palmer Johnson Yachts – this is like nothing you’ve seen sail before.

At a whopping 229m (751 ft) in length, it’s twice the size of the Jeff Bezos’ gigantic superyacht, Koru.

Koru is so big, Jeff Bezos has to dock it in a special place away from other superyachts.

What’s more, Koru has her own ‘support yacht’ that cost Jeff Bezos $75 million.

The ‘gigayacht’, however, is longer than 24 double-deckers parked end to end, or two football fields.

And if it’s ever built, it would smash the current superyacht size record.

It’s currently held by Azzam, a 591-feet-long boat owned by the president of the United Arab Emirates.

Park explained he’s had “genuine interest” in the project and is hopeful the ‘gigayacht’ will host passengers in the near future.

However, when it comes to the ‘gigayacht’ – named Valkyrie by its creator – size isn’t everything.

And with an eye-watering price tag estimated at $799 million – it’s a good job.

Valkyrie’s unique below-the-waterline construction would minimize drag, boosting speed and increasing fuel efficiency by up to 50 percent.

That results in a maximum speed of 25 knots (46.3 km/h) becoming possible.

Use of Palmer Johnson’s carbon construction technology throughout reduces the weight of the vessel to help this happen.

But for passengers, this simply means 30 percent more space for on-board activities and better sight lines inside.

Activities you say? Consider it a floating entertainment hub.

Valkyrie has you covered with a helicopter pad, casino and art galleries.

Want more? A club, sky lounge beach club and restaurants will keep you busy.

Still not enough: there would also be shops and theaters.

Need to relax: there’s a total of three bow-facing decks for lounging.

With 52 guests in 26 cabins – it’s like a cruise ship that can crank up the speed.

However, it looks nothing like the huge white tourist traps.

Sleek and futuristic – not unlike this futuristic superyacht concept – ‘gigayacht’ wouldn’t look out of place in a science fiction film.

Chulhun Park explained that his inspiration came from deconstructivism.

The architectural style favors warped shapes over convention.

“Having seen too many conventional white yachts, which were vertically stacked like wedding cakes, I was determined to design a visually unique yacht which would stand out from a fleet,” he told CNN.

“I was interested in manipulating a structure’s surface to create non-rectilinear shapes, which appear to distort and dislocate elements of shape.”
